Independent Bands and Artists,

Once again The Deli gives you the opportunity to be selected to play NYC's Rooftop Films' Summer Series 2013, which will run every weekend from May 10 until August, with special events in September.

The event couples films with live music on top of spectacular NYC roofs, and connects artists with audiences so that each event is unique and memorable. The Rooftop Film music programming staff will select some artists from those who applied through The Deli.

The Deli's Austin 2013 issue is now online - with The Lone Bellow on the cover! They are playing City Winery tomorrow by the way (03.08).

You can read it (but you can't feel it) HERE. If you want to feel it you'll have to come to Austin during Music Week (March 12-17), we'll distribute 10k of these pocket rags between Downtown, the East Side and South Congress.

This year The Deli will present in full force in Austin during the unmentionable Live Music Fest. We were asked to help book a small room in Downtown West, and this idea became our first Deli Hangover Hideout!!! Check out this outstanding lineup of (mostly) singer songwriters and acoustic bands.

If Providence’s Magic Man plans to follow their new single “Paris” with an equally strong set of tunes for their sophomore album, they could stage a breakout similar to a fellow New Englander playing catchy synth-pop songs: Passion Pit. Though the quartet may have found a bit of inspiration with their stateside neighbor, they are certainly holding their own style down, with bouncy piano interludes and cool synth beats woven into a simply great vocal part. The Deli's Best of 2012 Poll for emerging New England artists is now over, thanks to all those who cast their vote in support of the emerging local bands and artists in our list of nominees.

Congrats to Boston rapper MC Kabir pictured and streaming below) for becoming The Deli Readers' Best New England Artist of 2012. Kudos also the close seconds, powerful alt folk sextet The Bridgebuilders. New Hampshire's garage soul band Gnarlemagne placed third.
