Soccer Mommy moves to NYC, plays Silent Barn on 10.02

Straddling the line between Suzanne Vega's intellectual but vulnerable songwriting and Belly's dreamy pop melodicism, Soccer Mommy, the project of songwriter Sophie Allison, recently relocated from Nashville to NYC. Since 2015, the young lady has released three strictly self-produced EPs (two of them are called 'songs of my bedroom') and one full length album entitled 'for young hearts.' Single and opening track 'Henry' (streaming below) shines for its imaginative lyrics, with Sophie trying to guess a loved boy's thoughts and feelings, accompanied by a heart wrenching melody. NYC 'young hearts' shouldn't miss her show at the Silent Barn on 10.02

The Deli Philly's Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner: Radiant Life Perspective

Though they have “never really played a show” together, Ian Bennett and Bobbie Parker are certainly doing something right in the realm of songwriting and recording under the moniker Radiant Life Perspective. With previous movie and TV soundtrack credits helping to spread their sound, the duo blend in-sync harmonies with playful melodies even in the most downtrodden of moments. New Tapes & Tubes LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Tapes & Tubes, a.k.a. Austin Potter, has recently released a retrospective collection of songs entitled Retroactive. Available on cassette and lathe-cut vinyl via UK label Liquid Library, the songs emerge from in between the cracks with their intimately hushed/secretive vocal tones. The album touches on those deep, isolating, pensive states that come to the forefront when returning from sleep or conversely nodding off to slumber.

DAN EDMONDS - "LOVE CAN BE A TUNNEL"

Dan Edmonds is gettin' his solo career going quite nicely since his former band Harlen Pepper decided to go their separate ways. His debut solo album "Ladies on the Corner" will be released on October 7th via Missed Connection Records and Edmonds has dropped a video for the lead single. "Love Can Be A Tunnel" has a laid back folk rock feel with a cool chord progression and hypnotic vocal melodies. The song is about some ladies on the corner that he would talk to before heading into the studio in downtown Hamilton. The song shows there are different tunnels of love with the first verse being rather dark and the second becoming more positive. The video was directed by Taylor Heres. He'll be at The Dakota Tavern on October 7th before heading on a tour to Western Canada. - Kris Gies
