New Track: "Cinderella" - Instupendo

Aidan Peterson, a.k.a. Instupendo, recently shared a new single “Cinderella,” featured on the forthcoming EP Boys by Girls (due out on June 5). Establishing an elegant atmosphere of contemplation, the first person narrative swims in a placid, confessional composition. However, while the song appears to come from the point of view of a hesitant admirer, protective instincts are also voiced/revealed. Hovering between a daydreaming ideal and the hope that it translates into a reality, one waits to see how the story plays out.

Run Coyote - Adventurous New Single "The Chase"

The brand new single from Toronto’s Run Coyote features the anti-hero from their upcoming album “In Shadowlands”. Run Coyote blends 2000’s indie rock with old time spaghetti western licks which are very prominent in this single “The Chase”. This tune follows the character as she tries to take justice into her own hands and is pursued by a private eye across the city and desert. “In Shadowlands” is out on April 26th via So Sorry Records. Run Coyote will be on the road throughout Eastern Canada in April/May and will be performing at their release party in Toronto at the Burdock on June 27th with Lenny Bull. – Kris Gies

New Mike Space Album Available for Streaming & Download

Mike Whalen, a.k.a. Mike Space, recently shared a new album Mike Gets Dark, which also features contributions from Justin Roth (Soft Idiot). There’s a delicate, finding-comfort-in-loneliness aspect to the recordings. Balancing bleakness with hopeful bright glimpses, these songs blend catchiness with an ear toward experimentation. "It's an album about the means by which we seclude ourselves, and how those same means can bring us back together with the people we love."

red steppes releases "Trouble" at Pete's Candy Store on 04.12

Brooklyn welcomes a singer-songwriter with a lilting but powerful soprano voice, Kaki King styled finger-picking on their guitar, and a light touch of electronica in her tracks. St. Vincent held up the mantle when she called the borough home, and local artists such as Belle-Skinner have come to the forefront of the borough's scene in recent years. Nika Aila States comes to Brooklyn from Oakland. As red steppes, she'll release her sophomore album Arcs on May 31st. We are premiering here "Trouble", a track from the album which displays what States has to offer: Graceful guitars dancing over a simple electro-tom beat have moments of disruption when they break into jazzy chords accompanied by a piano and her voice rising into her upper register. Take a listen to "Trouble" below; States will release it officially at a show at Pete's Candy Store on April 12th. - Will Sisskind

New Track: "Class Killer" - Josh Levinsky & The Schmoos

A new single, “Class Killer,” recently arrived via Josh Levinsky & The Shmoos. The song occupies a conversational tone as lines are punctuated by backend exclamations. A confident & somewhat cocky narrator walks through the halls in an agitated manner as an acoustic, garage-punk tone is achieved. Opposing viewpoints are traded back & forth as a thoughtful aggression is released.
