New York singer/songwriter Rachael Sage premieres 'I've Been Waiting' + plays Rockwood on 5.13

Ahead of the release of her latest album 'Choreographic' on 5/20, New York singer/songwriter Rachael Sage today premieres "I've Been Waiting" (streaming below) off the effort. A sultry yet warm song that smoothly melds potentially disparate genres as folk and pop, the string-lined track tells of interpersonal longing with Aimee Mann-like poetic bewitchment. "Cover me with butterfly kisses/I could be the one you haunt," Sage sings, unabashed desire sliding through. Rachael Sage will perform at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 on 5/13. - Zach Weg

New Music Video: "Emotional Collapse" - Hound

Hound frontman Perry Shall looks like he's having the best time getting the worst presents at his bday celebration in the band's new music video for "Emotional Collapse". The faux home-movie backdrop gives way to some bitchin' heavy-psych jams that are found on their latest LP Out Of Space (SRA Records). Enjoy!

Simon Doom plays Union Pool on 04.28

Simon Doom is the project of Simon O'Connor, who used to play with Kuroma and Amazing Baby. They present themselves this way: "Simon Doom would consider themselves to be a "Pop-Punk" band if, "Pop-Punk" didn't mean Pop-Punk." There's an easy solution: switch around the two words and call yourselves a "Punk-Pop" band! This however only partially describes their sound because, although melodic and raw, it's also heavily influenced by surf and post punk - which places them in a musical place very close to our gods of indie rock: (early) Pixies. Like the legendary Bostonians, Simon Doom have some really good songs, full of character, intriguing melodies and charismatic vocal performances. Check out our favorite one, entitled "Roseate," streaming below.

We added this song to The Deli's playlist of Best songs by emerging NYC artists - check it out!
