Head - Brand New Kick Ass Rock n' Roll

Head is a brand new 3 piece rock n roll band from Toronto. They have recently released their first single “Runaway” and it absolutely rips. We’re talkin’ straight up rock n roll. Produced by Ian Blurton; the vocals remind me a little bit of Iggy and the music would be right up his alley too.  I can picture an old muscle car firin’ down a gravel road with this song cranked up and smoke bellowing from the windows. Head plays The Red Light (Dundas/Dufferin) on Saturday April 28th with Shallow Waves. – Kris Gies

Robot Princess celebrates release of energetic garage rock LP at Secret Project Robot 04.28

Hop on the wave, the big buoyant wave of indie rock that is Robot Princess. As much as the band dwells into scrappy punk, it never hesitates to flood its songs with keytar hooks, sugary backing vocals, and bounce along choruses. On a handful of singles from the band’s new album APOCALYPSE + BULLSHIT, out April 28th on Jam Eater Records, the penchant for unabashedly eager garage rock continues uninhibited. You can feel the energy in person that night when Robot Princess headlines a release show at Secret Project Robot. In the meantime, listen to single "Wizards + Mystics" below. – Cameron Carr

New Cold Fronts LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Fantasy Du Jour, the sophomore LP from Cold Fronts, is out now via Sire. The band still revs it up, and joyously rips riffs; however, they also take the time to step back, slow down for a second, and get introspective. Those lyrical peeks behind the curtain are tranquil opportunities to refresh and reflect, but the album still remains a very fun ride, with the mellower moments really setting off the full-bore rockers and vice versa. Cold Fronts is getting set to hit the road next month with Hockey Dad, and the tour will be making a stop in Philly on Thursday, June 14 at Everybody Hits.

Bad Waitress - Release Party 04.21 at The 'Shoe with Nightseeker!

Formerly known as the Nude Dogs; Bad Waitress are set to release a new EP this Saturday. They describe their tunes as “heavy licks, intense energy and strong satire.” Their first single “Acid Brain” is filthy and smells like an ash tray….and I mean that in a good way. The video of this two minute ripper is about as chaotic as the song itself. Be at the Horseshoe Tavern on Saturday April 21 for Bad Waitress’ Release Party along with Beuller and the legendary Nightseeker featuring Dean Murdoch from FUBAR! – Kris Gies
