Warn the Duke

Warn The Duke celebrates release of 'Ghost Be Gone' LP at Bowery Electric tomorrow (06.29)

The Brooklyn-based four piece Warn The Duke is made up of members of River City Rebels and Big D & The Kids Table. Their debut release Ghost Be Gone is a lively punk rock album at once reminiscent of The Replacements and Husker Du. The band blends together the sound of 90’s emo and alt rock to create their catchy brand of melodic punk music. Tracks like “Henry O’Donnell” and “Noreaster” feature smooth melodies and high energy choruses that call to mind alternative punk acts of the early 2000’s like Sugarcult. The opening track “Coastline” (streaming) is characterized by heavy riffs and brash shouted vocals, while still maitntaing a sound that - within the punk rock realm - is softer and quite catchy. Warn The Duke will be celebrating the release of Ghost Be Gone tomorrow (June 29th) at Bowery Electric. - John Honan

Warn the Duke Release New Video, Prepare to Play Boston's Burning 3

Warn the Duke (mems. Big D and the Kids Table, River City Rebels) are gearing-up for the release of their debut album, Ghost be Gone, on October 16 and from the sounds (and looks) of their latest video, this LP will be a raucous, pop-punk ride. "Harry O'Donnell" has no shortage of energy--pick slides, gang vocals and an epic, crowd-surf-worthy solo near the bridge. The choruses for this song will leave you longing for the stale beer smell and jean jacket patches atmosphere that only a dive bar punk show can provide. If you're looking for an immediate PBR & rock n' roll fix, Warn the Duke will be playing The Midway Cafe this Saturday, September 18 as part of Boston's Burning 3, a three-day rock fest held in Jamaica Plain, MA.

NYC Alt Rockers Warn the Duke prepare new record + play Gigawatts Fest

We found Bushwick quartet Warn The Duke in the listings of the July Gigawatts Festival, which packs a slew of emerging NYC artists (we covered most of them in this blog). They play incendiary alt rock with punk and garage overtones, and from their Facebook posts we gather that they are currently working on the follow up to their 2014 debut two track 'Noreaster EP' - listen to the EP's title track below.

We added this song to The Deli's playlist of Best alt rock songs by emerging NYC artists - check it out!
