"Experiment and Dance" w/Aphra, QQQ & More at W/N W/N Jan. 31

W/N W/N is throwing another one of their celebrations of “experiment and dance” this Sunday. Aphra, the solo project of ex-Tutlie member Rebecca Way, takes on a more minimalist electropop side of music; some live performances consist of just her and a keyboard, but her new music experiments more with noise and texture. Either way, expect Way’s powerful voice to be featured heavily. Also making an appearance to get your synapses firing will be sound sculptor QQQ. Synth pads straight out of 80's depictions of dystopian futures set the foundation beneath displaced beats and glitching samples that bring stark attention to the negative space between notes and grooves. Glades will be performing as well, bringing a more pacified ambience to the party with his chilled-out, cosmic electro-soul. Synth pads drone, warble and bleed into each other, contrasting with sharp, modulating, occasionally arhythmic percussion samples, while Telequanta varies his sound from funky house remixes of disco songs with that classic danceable bass drum backbeat to more ambient, downtempo jams. New Track: "Panama (Telequanta Remix)" - Dream Safari

Below is a new remix of Dream Safari's "Panama" from Telequanta, the electronic project from J. Termini and now Patrick Schlitzer. They take a laidback, glitched-out approach to the single before letting the vocals seep into the forefront, turning the original upbeat dance track to something more contemplative. Press play, and let it wash over you.

Moon Bounce Getting Down at Silk City April 20th

Local knob-turning maestro Moon Bounce is having a 4/20 blowout tonight at Silk City.  Moon Bounce has been creating warped, multi-faceted and finely tuned electronic music for a couple years now.  The R&B informed producer has released a series of increasingly impressive EP’s leading up to his most recent, Dress Rehearsal, out now on his own label Grind Select. This rare show will also include mind-bending visuals by Jason Hsu, making the trippy set that much more trippy. Joining Moon Bounce is the chill, spacey electronic artist Telequanta, who is prepping his newest release, Metaverse, which is slated to come out on Data Garden next month.  Filling out the bill is synthwaver Lapses.  Come get down and work all that food off. Silk City, 435 Spring Garden St., 8pm, $7, 21+ - Adam G.
