Shannen Moser

Weekend Warrior, April 27 - 29

The assemblage of Port Arthur creates engaging, intimate folk. The proximity of the storytelling exhibits a trustful confidence, opening the curtains for all to see and coaxing communicable scenarios in the process. One finds joy in pensive vulnerability, which retains an elevated touch as a cavalcade of instrumentation paints the finer details. Tonight at Kung Fu Necktie, they’ll be joined by the unwavering, straight-shooting songwriting of Shannen Moser, which aches while simultaneously exuding a heartwarming resilience. Signals Midwest’s Maxwell Stern will also invite you on an observational caravan, tying together external sensations and circumstances with internal revelations. Chicago’s Friends of the Bog completes this formidable, folk lineup. Weekend Warrior, November 24 - 26

This Sunday, a congregation heads to the First Unitarian Church, celebrating the bounty of beautiful music that local imprint Lame-O Records has curated in its first 5 years. Jake Ewald’s Slaughter Beach, Dog creates a sense of melodic ease, whilst working through the humbling hurdles of day-to-day living, via thoughtful perspectives. Cutting directly to the core of emotions with songwriting spun out of sincerity, Shannen Moser establishes an inviting folk proximity, drawing one in with blankets of relatable harmonies that ache and simultaneously provide room to breathe and process. Fuzzily rekindling mementos of the past with a clean-slated set of eyes, Cherry is freshly familiar, while No Thank You brings the tangle of guttural pensions to the surface, demonstrating a cathartic grit. They'll also be pre-partying in the Side Chapel with a pop-up acoustic show that will feature "Lame-O and friends". Congrats to Eric Osman and the Lame-O family! – Michael Colavita

New Video: "Yr Undertaker" (Live) - Shannen Moser

Singer-songwriter Shannen Moser is getting a vinyl release for her latest LP Oh, My Heart, due out June 16 via Lame-O Records. To get folks hyped about the upcoming release, she'll be sharing a series of performance videos that will take place throughout Philly. Below is the first where we find Moser serenading cars with a vunerable, stripped-down version of "Yr Undertaker" as they whiz by on Columbus Ave. You can also catch her live (minus the passing traffic) at Union Transfer on Wednesday, June 14 with Sorority Noise, Fort Wanderers, and The Obsessives

New Shannen Moser LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Shannen Moser's new LP, Oh, My Heart, rekindles her personal-threaded folk, creating reflective anecdotes that dig into the earnest environment. While acoustic guitar serves as the instrumental foundation, accents of keys, cello and trumpet aid in accentuating a vivid atmosphere. The album was recorded/mixed/mastered by Eric Muth at The Enscoe's Barn in Earlville, NY and The Knife Lair in Philly. Moser is slated to perform at Kung Fu Necktie on Tuesday, January 17 with Endless Mike and The Beagle Club, Maxwell Stern, and Spenser Colmbs.
