NYC's psych rockers Museyroom play at Mercury Lounge on 12/9

This past summer, three-piece band Museyroom released a psychedelic video for the song “Ranges” off the LP ‘Pearly Whites’. The track's edgy arrangement, with its quirky elements and droney ambience, lays out the groundwork for this video’s striking imagery: a woman strolls through a forest in winter time, immersed in a vivid musical journey that intertwines faded naturalistic scenes with color-bursting animation and visual effects that ebb, flow, and transform. Check it out down below and catch Museyroom live at the Mercury Lounge on December 9. -Ashley Muniz

We added this song to The Deli's playlist of Best psych songs by emerging NYC artists - check it out!

Museyroom unveils single "Ballad" + announce release of LP 'Pearly Whites'

Hailing from Brooklyn and Philadelphia, psych-pop trio Museyroom, now featured on the Philly-based label Grindselect, just put out a self-described “future nostalgia” single entitled “Ballad,” which features a set of thoughtful narrative lyrics, lush guitar tones a la Morning Benders, and a reminiscent vibe evocative of Atlas Sound. The vocals are pleasantly processed and harmoniously layered with a touch of Crosby, Still, Nash & Young, while the laidback drums work with the punchy bassline to build up complex rhythms under an epic soundscape, all leading to an uplifting, emotional release. If this single is any indication, Museyroom has great things in store for 2016. You can catch Museyroom at the Fulton Street Market in Manhattan this Friday, December 11 or at Boot & Saddle in Philly on December 29. Their debut LP, “Pearly Whites,” is set to drop on March 25. - Dan Rome

Museyroom readies album “Pearly Whites” + plays at Knitting Factory 08.16

Noisy and dreamy at once, Brooklyn/Philly trio Museyroom hits a soft spot with their nostalgic flavored, evocative music. The band's roots go way back to 2003, or rather the end of middle school when guitarist and singer, Jack Donavon started playing with multi-instrumentalist Ben Cohen. The duo became a proper band later on when they found their drummer in Matt Coppola. According to the group's Facebook page, Museyroom’s forthcoming album “Pearly Whites” is promised to be “a dense and harrowing work of rare quality.” Although this brought a smile to our faces, we sure found their music good enough to be highlighted in this blog. Check out their dream soaked, 2009 self-titled EP and - if you dig it - don't miss their show at The Knitting Factory on August 16th. - Lauren Schechter
