Hound

Weekend Warrior, January 2 - 4

It’s going to get loud and heavy this Saturday night at Golden Tea House. Rifftastic locals Hound will be unleashing the rock, inducing plenty of headbanging from the rafters. The combination of Perry Shall on guitar and Chis Wilson on drums will be locked and loaded. Beavis and Butthead certainly wouldn’t think that they suck! With Marisa Dabice taking resident in the big old Creepoid/Brian McManus West Philly house, New York transplants Mannequin Pussy have been making their presence known around Philly. They’ll be playing host to Amherst, MA’s California X and Newton, CT’s Ovlov. Get there early because I expect this show to sell out! Golden Tea House, (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info.), 7:30pm, All Ages - Alexis V.

New Video: “Mortality Jam” & “Cold Sweat” (Live) - Hound

Frank Huang (of Pit Full of Shit blog) captured the pedal to the floor wild beast of a trio, otherwise known as Hound. The footage was captured on December 6, 2014 at Saint Vitus Bar. The video (with its fire-starting effect) is split between two tunes “Mortality Song” and “Cold Sweat.”

New Music Video: "Affordable Hypnotist" - Hound

Watch frontman Perry Shall on his quest in Hound’s new video “Affordable Hypnotist,” which is featured on the group's debut LP Out of Time. The video, co-directed by Shall and Eddie Austin, follows his path with a menacing anticipation, and culminates with a slightly twisted/humorous conclusion. Out of Time will be released on November 28 via SRA Records, and Hound will perform a free record release show on Tuesday, November 25 at Long in the Tooth.

Psychic Teens & Hound Release Show at Boot & Saddle Nov. 7

The prospects for tonight’s SRA Records-oriented dual release show at Boot & Saddle are righteous. "Face," one-side of tormenting psych-death rockers Psychic Teens, is a menacing energetic tune littered with jagged, attacking instrumentations and a dose of commanding growl driven vocals that will crawl into your ear waves in a hauntingly pleasant manner. The heavy-footed pedal to the floor classic metal with garage grit of Perry Shall, Colin Mcginus and Chris Wilson combine as a bona fide rocking force, as Hound, and this show will also serve as the record release for their debut LP Out of Time. The show will also feature renowned hardcore outfit Flag Of Democracy, a.k.a. F.O.D., and the high-speed intensity of Spectrum Disorder. Be prepared for Boot & Saddle to rain sweat and ooze with unrelenting, raucous intensity. In other words, be there. Boot & Saddle, 1131 S. Broad St., 8pm, $10, 21+ - Michael Colavita

Hound Opening for JEFF The Brotherhood & Diarrhea Planet at Underground Arts Oct. 11

Raunchy guitar loaded with a neo-‘70’s rock, all-in battering ram musical arsenal that sticks with you the whole way through delivering memorable instrumental forays along the way. Perry Shall-led hard-rocking trio Hound, whose latest record Out of Time will be available as a physical LP on November 28 via SRA Records (listen to the group's new single "Little One" HERE), will serve as the opening act to a rad evening of jams at Underground Arts. Virginia transplants turned Philly residents Left & Right, who delivered a new record Five Year Plan last month, have a sound that incorporates a loose casual rock vibe with a knack for accelerating the intensity at key moments and searing away. The show will be headlined by rock 'n' roll heavyweights JEFF The Brotherhood and Diarrhea Planet (for whom the multi-talented Shall has designed album covers and worked with in many aspects over the years). Underground Arts, 1200 Callowhill St., 8pm, $12, 21+ - Michael Colavita
