Reptaliens Announce Cali Tour

When former members of BRAINSTORM, Wampire and Blouse creatively combine with parts of Fog Father, you get an indelibly lo-fi, twee, garage pop-like sound à la a cocktail of Cults, Beach House and Ariel Pink that is impossible not to lovingly drink up. That cocktail comes by the name of Portland group Reptaliens, and they're taking their delicious sounds on a musical ride down the West Coast.

Reptaliens as a group may be newer, but its members are vets in the Portland music scene that know their way around a tour or two. This upcoming week-long excursion will find them starting out with their tour kickoff as part of XRAY.fm's benefit show and making their way down to the sunny skies of Los Angeles for a few shows, before stopping in Eugene on their way back up to Portland.

Check out Reptalien's tour dates below and be sure to see them off properly at Dig A Pony!

DreamGaze Collective Expands DreamGaze Festival to San Francisco Bay Area - 8/29

We're excited to share the news that a new festival will be taking place at The Cave on August 29th in San Francisco, CA!

DreamGaze Collective, a group of musicians, music lovers and promoters with a shared interest in musical genres ranging from shoegaze and dream-pop to post-punk and nugaze features members who are vested in furthering these genres. From putting on shows all around Southern California to expanding their efforts into a larger festival.

The San Francisco edition will feature local San Francisco psychedelic rock n' roll band LSD and The Search For God as headliners, and many other bands such as Balms, Crescendo, Cruel Summer, Bellavista, Golden Drugs and many more. It will be $15 for advanced tickets and $20 for door. This festival is an all ages event.

"Greg (from Los Angeles band Crescendo and I became friends and started talking about doing festival-style shows in LA/SF highlighting our favorite local dreampop / shoegaze / post-punk-ish bands. There's been a lot of really cool new bands coming out of both cities, so over all it was really easy to get everyone together and excited about it. There is still an amazing group of creative people living here, being cool as hell and making rad art/music." -Jared Padovani of Balms

Creepers Wreck and Reference and So Stressed Play the Hemlock Tavern TONIGHT

Creepers are a band to watch. Formed out of members of fellow Bay Area bands Deafheaven, White Cloud and Golden Drugs, the group sounds like psych rock with a progressive rock twist. Formed in 2011, the band recently released its first EP in October 2013. The recent self-titled EP contains two songs – Forked Tongues and Drug Vision. With shallow vocals and instrumentals that gravitate between blistering and subdued speeds, the first (and longest) song Forked Tongues is an epic, and is more reminiscent of psych rock. Drug Vision is an up-tempo tune, where Creepers’ prog-rock influences are more apparent. In the end, the two songs come together to create a cohesive and dynamic release. -Erin Dage

Be sure to catch Creepers at the Hemlock Tavern with Wreck and Reference and So Stressed December 22.
