The trio of Blowdryer recently shared a eye-catching video for “Intent,” featured on their new self-titled release. Director Dawn Riddle (of Bad Canoes) creates a visual spectacle that taps into a sense of retro oddity. What is its "intent"? Hmm...fuck if we know! But we are definitely digging the dance moves, which are absolutely playful and endearing. Philly’s Blowdryer released a new full-length self-titled tape today, and this evening, they’ll be celebrating its arrival at Everybody Hits. Acknowledging present circumstances in direct lyricism, keenly cutting to the points, the band melodically maneuvers with exuberant ends, highlighting observations & issues on the individual (micro-level) that can be applied on the larger scale. The post-punk trio creates something that’s fun and catchy, while touching on the shortcomings of living in our own self-contained bubbles. Tonight, Sarah Everton (Telepathic, Bleeding Rainbow), Robyn Campbell (Permanent Body), and Dominique Montgomery will be supported by noise-punks Chronic Anxiety and the quartet of Soft Crime, which is made up of Jason Killinger (Spacin’), Jenna Robb (Louie Louie), Colin Pate (Total Discharge) and Emily Burtner (Marge). – Michael Colavita

Alt rockers Mumblr were one of the most active local acts last year, willing to perform anywhere and everywhere around Philly. That spirit has continued into 2015 with the band gearing up to hit the road next week for an East Coast tour with Soda Bomb. However, they do have a rad show this evening at Everybody Hits where you'll find the group hosting The Deli NYC's 2013 Artist of the Year, Big Ups. They'll also be joined by fiery NYC transplants Mannequin Pussy and all-female punk-pop trio Blowdryer. No, this is not an April Fool's prank, and hump day just got a whole lot better!
